Beginning April 18th through May 30th the Monument Police Department offers a no cost 8 week Citizens Police Academy program that is open to all who live or work in the Tri-Lakes area, the classes will be held every Tuesday from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and one Saturday at the range. We believe that this is a great opportunity for the citizens to see firsthand what law enforcement is all about. The Academy is designed to increase understanding between citizens and the police through education. It also gives the police officers another opportunity to interact positively with the community, which is a fundamental base of Community Policing.
