TOWN OF MONUMENT COVID-19 PROCESS FOR PLANNING COMMISSION MEETINGS UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED BY GOVERNOR POLIS' OFFICE
The Town of Monument continues to closely monitor Coronavirus (COVID-19) and take steps to keep our community and staff safe. With this in mind the Planning Commission meetings will be following this process until further notice.
*Due to the unfortunate Pandemic and the Planning Commission being unable to meet as normal, we had to implement additional special Planning Commission meetings in June and July (and may need more), in order to hear a backlog of development projects. This is approved by the Planning Commission to avoid further delays.
*Also due to the Pandemic and the need to safely follow Until further notice, the Planning Commissioners, project applicants and staff will be at the Town Hall Boardroom in person. This may include limited numbers of people in the Board room, social distancing and requiring masks etc. At this time Public attendance will be limited to remote attendance with the following guidelines :
*Each Development Project will have all information and presentations uploaded onto the Town website for public review, one week in advance on the Monument Documents on Demand.
*The public is encouraged to write in their comments and questions via email to firstname.lastname@example.org(please include the project name), at least one day in advance of the meeting date.
*Your comments and questions will be read by the Planning Commission Chairman at the hearing, so that it is part of the hearing record. Additionally, similar to the Board of Trustee meetings, the Town of Monument will use the remote public participation process below. (updated for each hearing date)

The Planning Commission (PC) consists of seven members appointed by the Board of Trustees. The Planning Commission meets once a month to make recommendations on land use applications and land use related ordinances before they are heard by the Board of Trustees. For more information about the Planning Commission please call 719-884-8028. The Board of Adjustment (BOA) is a volunteer Board of five members appointed by the Board of Trustees, including one representative from the Board and one representative from the Planning Commission. The Board of Adjustment meets on an "as needed" basis to hear and rule on variances to the Town's Zoning Regulations. In an effort to increase community engagement in our local government, the Town of Monument will be live streaming Planning Commission meetings. Please note that we may be unable to monitor online comments during the meeting unless it is in the Webex format.
In an attempt to better serve the residents of the Town of Monument, Documents on Demand has created a searching tool that will allow you to view agendas, minutes, packets and other documents of the various boards and commissions. Not only will you be able to look at the current meeting information but you will be able to search past meetings for specific meeting detail.
