Temporary Suspension

TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF CONTRACT AND PURCHASING POLICY TO ACQUIRE PLANNING DEPARTMENT ASSISTANCE

The position of Town Planning Director has recently become vacant for the second time within the last twelve months and the fifth time in recent years. Planning Department staff members are all new to the Town and its land development process, with one member having been employed by the Town for only one year and the other member being employed by the Town less than a year; one member is relatively inexperienced having graduated from college only this year. A large number of Land Development Code applications, some involving large and complex developments, are currently pending and being processed by the Town. A temporary suspension the Contract and Purchasing Policy is needed to expeditiously contract for Planning Department assistance.
