PRESS RELEASE

Weapons Violation

On 11/27/18 Officers with the Monument Police Department responded to a residence in the 17000 block of Hulls Way to investigate the report of a theft. Upon arrival Officers were told that the occupants of the residence had recently let an acquaintance, Juan Sebastian De La Vega-King (DOB 06/21/1991), stay at the residence. After a period of time they noticed that De La Vega-King had been stealing items from them, to include a prescription bottle of Vicodin. Further investigation revealed that De La Vega-King was also in possession of several items previously reported as stolen in Albany, Oregon burglary. Two of those items were firearms (one revolver, one rifle).

De La Vega-King is known to carry firearms on his person and was recently seen with a 1911 pistol, possibly a Colt, in his possession (believed to be connected to the Albany, Oregon burglary case).

De La Vega-King was in possession of two ballistic body armor vests. One was recovered by officers at the scene and it is believed he still has the other.

De La Vega-King’s criminal history shows multiple convictions for felonies including controlled substances, burglary, and weapons offenses. These convictions make it illegal for him to possess firearms or body armor.

A nationwide extradition warrant has been issued for De La Vega-King’s arrest for:

• 18-12-1018(2)(b) Possession of weapons by previous offender (F4)

• 18-18-403.5(2)(a) Unlawful possession of a controlled substance (DF4)

• 18-4-40 Theft (M2)

• 18-18-428 Possession of drug paraphernalia (DPO)

De La Vega-King is a white male, 5’08”, approximately 150 pounds, with brown hair, brown eyes, and wears a nose ring. The most recent picture available of De La Vega-King shows him with some of his hair died blonde.

He was last seen driving a tan to silver 2000 Nissan Frontier extra-cab pickup bearing Oregon license plate HHVR. The pickup was last seen with a black camper shell on it that may have two large dinosaur stickers on the tailgate glass of the camper shell (a Tyrannosaurs rex and a Brontosaurus).

Juan De La Vega-King should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information related to the whereabouts of Juan Sebastian De La Vega-King is asked to call the Monument Police Department at (719) 481-3253.
